The Atom text editor is a free text and open source and source code editor for Microsoft Windows with support for plug-ins listed on Node.js, and embedded Git Control, developed by GitHub. Atom is a desktop application built using web technology. Most of the expandable packages are free and licensed software licenses and are maintained.

Overview of Atom text editor:-

This app is based on Electron (formerly known as Atom Shell), a framework that enables desktop applications with platforms using Chromium and Node.js. Written in Kofi script and Less. It was able to be used as an integrated development platform (IDE) until that feature ‘retired’ in December 2018. Atom was released in beta, from version 1.0, on June 25, 2015. Its developers called it a “100-indelible text editor 21st.

However, those packages now come in with a verbose box on the initial launch. Reporting usage data to Google Analytics (Starting with version 1.31.0, this has been deleted, and usage details are now being sent directly to GitHub’s analytics pipeline directly. Includes a unique UUID v4 identifier. This feature can be disabled by the user by opening Settings View, searching for the metrics pack, and disabling it.
